Synopsis
Neris Vale is about to abandon her late mother’s apothecary when a dying boy is dragged through the door with a broken contract nail in his chest.
The curse is simple: when he dies, the nearest person dies in his place.
Neris can read the hidden clauses destroying lives. She can take a contract onto herself—but never just the useful part. Every gift arrives with a binding, and every binding demands payment.
