THE FRAGMENT
Synopsis
Remedius Jones has spent his whole life on the outside of a world he doesn't belong to — the son of a brilliant scientist, ordinary in a world where one in five people can bend life itself into power.
Then the Moon breaks.
A black hole meant to unlock humanity's next century instead tears through his father's life's work — and through him. Something ancient and impossible reaches across the wreckage and fuses itself to what's left of Remedius: a voice with no name, no history, and no explanation for why it chose to save him.
In the months that follow, Remedius loses his father to a lie the world believes without question — and gains a power he never asked for and doesn't understand. To use it, he must learn a truth about magic itself that no one alive has ever known. To survive it, he'll have to decide what that power is actually for.
Because someone built this catastrophe on purpose. And the boy they used to do it isn't finished being used yet.
A story about grief, identity, and the difference between power and the will to protect something with it — the first volume of a saga that will span galaxies, minds, and the space between them.
