Seven VS The System

His world isn’t being invaded.

It’s being evicted.

When portals open across Kavareth, Desmond Rask discovers the truth buried in the fine print: his entire reality is under an expired lease agreement, and the Interdimensional Housing Authority (IHA) has arrived to repossess it.

Desmond isn’t a hero. He’s a contract-obsessed nobody with an unhealthy talent for finding loopholes. Unfortunately, the loophole he finds requires seven candidates to survive a lethal System trial series.

Even more unfortunately, the IHA gets to choose the candidates.

So they choose the worst possible people for the job.

Now Desmond has to survive trials meant for actual champions, when instead he's got:
-A failed influencer.
-A grumpy plumber.
-A scheming criminal.
-A hippe-dippie pacifist.
-A retired interdimensional monstrosity.
-And one HEAVILY armed canine. 

The System expects heroes.

The landlords expect failure.

Desmond and his crew don't expect to live past breakfast.
