Intro:

The wars on Earth rang like a dinner bell. For decades, the percussive roar of our violence rippled outward, bruising the silence of the vacuum until something in the deep dark finally stirred.

It started as a seismic growl, a planetary vibration pulsing just like a heartbeat. In city parks, children froze mid-swing. In office towers, coffee rippled in ceramic mugs before the glass shattered.

Then, the physics of the world simply broke. A sudden, crushing weight seized every human body, a subatomic grip that pinned every atom in place. We were paralyzed…

That was when the shadows fell.

Two monolithic spheres, the matte-grey color of dead stars and the impossible size of moons, descended with silent, predatory grace. Docking themselves to our Earth. One over the North Pole and one over the South. They clamped onto Earth’s axes with a mechanical finality that suggested we were no longer a planet, but cargo.

Then, the sun disappeared.

It vanished. In the sudden, suffocating cold of the void, we felt a sickening lurch, a surge of momentum that defied every law of inertia. We were being pulled through the darkness of space at speeds that should have turned the crust into dust.

Minutes later, or perhaps an eternity, a new light pierced through the clouds. It was a sun, but it was the wrong color, burning with a cold, light violet hunger.

It had already begun rewriting the biology of our planet…

As the atmospheric haze cleared, the horror of our new reality settled in. The two "Dead Stars" still hung in our sky, their god-like machinery lightly humming as they held us in a permanent, locked grip.

But it was the horizon that broke our spirits. The sky was crowded. Half a dozen alien worlds hung unnaturally close, so large they blotted out the stars.

Each one bore the same scars: colossal orbs latched to their poles like leeches...

And so it begins, the race to find our place in the new system…
