Spiritbound
Synopsis
Twenty years ago, the world learned that spirits were real, and that the living could borrow supernatural powers from the dead from the Age of Wonders, with the price of now sharing their brain with another. It's illegal everywhere on Earth. It never stopped anyone.
Riku visits his dying sister every day, walking for 40 minutes past the corners where Names are bought and sold. When Mira makes a choice that saves her life and steals it from her at the same time, Riku is left with nothing but rage and nowhere to put it until a stranger pulls him out of a fight he was never going to win, and offers him a place among the only people trying to stop what's coming.
