RESONANCE
Synopsis
Five hundred years ago, the invasion should have ended the world. Instead, it made a new one.
Zaiden Kestrel failed his coming-of-age trial at fifteen — level 2, no meridians, no future. The kind of failure that's supposed to be the end of the story.
He decided it would be the beginning instead.
While the rich level up on curated hunts and the gifted get handed elite schools, Zaiden builds his strength the only way left to him: knowledge, patience, and a willingness to bleed for every inch of it. He recruits the other rejects — the angry, the desperate, the ones with nothing left to lose — and takes them into the wilderness to hunt monsters they have no business fighting. It works. It also gets someone killed, and he carries that weight into everything that follows.
Because Novaris was never meant to last. Humanity's refuge from an alien invasion sits on borrowed time, and the beasts beyond its walls are organizing in ways they never have before. As Zaiden claws his way from failed recruit to something the whole continent starts watching, he uncovers a truth buried deeper than any city's politics: his father didn't die seventeen years ago. He disappeared — through a door that doesn't let anyone go home.
Now Zaiden has to decide what he's willing to lose to find out what's on the other side.
