Insomnia Prisoner

by Duntres Ongoing

Synopsis

Twenty-five thousand years is a long time to remember a face.

Jensen was once a general — brilliant, beloved, until a single mission buried his entire army beneath a mountain of his own failures. Stripped of rank, thrown into a cell built for men the kingdom wanted to forget, he expected to rot there until the world moved on without him.

Instead, he met Damarr — and learned his wife, Elis, had already been marked for something far worse than death.

They escaped together. They were too late anyway.

What was left of Elis wasn't Elis anymore — a queen sealed in her body, ancient and merciless, clawing her way back into a world that had spent centuries forgetting she ever existed. There was only one way left to stop her. Jensen took it, and lost everything that made him human in the process — sixty percent spirit now, forty percent the man he used to be, bound to a hunt that won't end for twenty-five thousand years.

He still remembers her voice. He can't cry anymore. That's the part that never stops hurting.

This is the story of the  Revenir — and the ones who came after him, who never quite finished paying what they owed.

A spin-off of Sentiment, Once Written.
