From City to Throne
Synopsis
One city. One sword. One road to the throne.
Kagero is a city buried beneath fear.
Its walls are occupied, its streets are watched, and the black banner of the Kourai army flies above the fortress. The people have learned to lower their voices, close their doors, and survive in silence.
Takeda Renji was once a soldier. Now he lives hidden among the ruins of his old life, until one act of cruelty in the city square forces him to choose between silence and resistance.
With only a few trusted men, a buried sword, and a city full of secrets, Renji begins a campaign that is bigger than revenge. His goal is not only to kill an occupier. His goal is to liberate Kagero, restore order, protect the innocent, and build an army strong enough to challenge the power that conquered his homeland.
But freeing one city is only the beginning.
Roads must be taken. Forts must fall. Supplies must be secured. Allies must be tested. Enemies will return with larger armies, sharper tactics, and commanders who understand war as well as Renji does.
From one occupied city to the road toward a throne, Renji must learn what it truly means to lead.
Because a man with a sword can start a rebellion.
But only a leader can build a kingdom.
