She woke up as Elma Altheris, infant daughter of one of the most powerful Sovereigns in the world, heir to a name she didn't choose, and resident of a gilded cage she has no intention of staying in. She is four years old. The world runs on Resonance. Its users are content with vague classifications and guesswork. Elma is not. She is building her own system from scratch.

A Monster Raised in Silk is a dark progression fantasy about a weapon learning what it costs to want something. It features a rigorously quantified power system, a protagonist whose emotional journey she doesn't know she's on, and the slow, catastrophic realization that the people she was placed among might matter to her whether she approves of it or not.

Contains: Cold protagonist, reincarnation, political intrigue, elemental progression system with hard mechanics, dark humor, found family (she would like to clarify that she did not find them, they found her and she has not yet determined how to return them).

Posting schedule:
