Your Monster Is Showing
Synopsis
In the heart of a city shrouded in twilight, where the silhouettes of ancient buildings loomed against the bruised sky, Dawn walked with a quiet confidence. The air was thick, almost alive, whispering secrets known only to the night. As she ambled along the cracked pavement, the warm glow of her favorite bookstore beckoned like a beacon, promising shelter within the pages of forgotten tales. But little did she know, the shadows were not the only thing lurking in the corners of her world.
Dawn was the product of a beautiful enigma—a blend of light and darkness. Her father, a dazzling performer draped in mystery, had once recruited strange and captivating talents for a traveling circus that mesmerized crowds with the uncanny. Her mother, a hornless devil witch, possessed the grace of a fleeting dream, her soul steeped in both witchcraft and love. Together, they created a sanctuary for all things unusual, where outcasts of every kind found refuge and family. Their life was woven with threads of wonder and fear, a tapestry nearly as intricate as the spell her mother cast, designed to shield her from harm.
But as the wheel of fate turned, darkness crept in, shrouded in the form of a hired hybrid Wendigo werewolf, with eyes that burned like embers and a heart as tumultuous as a tempest. He was bound to her by a contract—a cruel taskmaster’s bidding—but as he watched her from the shadows, day after day, an unexpected transformation began. The beast within him, wild and ravenous, found itself captivated by Dawn’s spirit, her laughter ringing like wind chimes caught in a summer breeze.
This peculiar dance of fate unfolded one fateful afternoon. The streets pulsed with life, an orchestra of honking horns, distant chatter, and the scent of rain-soaked asphalt. Dawn departed the warm haven of her college, oblivious to the dark eyes that trailed her every step. The world around her was a familiar melody, a mix of routine and routine broken only by fleeting moments of surprise.
As she drifted down the street, the texture of her surroundings shifted—there was an edge, a tension that sat heavy in the air. It arrived in the form of a man, rushing from the shadows with desperation etched onto his face. Before she could react, he lunged at her, fingers clawing at the strap of her purse, their intents dark and selfish. Dawn gasped, instinct kicking in as she pulled away, a chaotic ballet of fear igniting within her.
In that instant, her mother’s spell played its hand.
