Where Dragons Build
Synopsis
Most dragons burn cities, but theirs are going to build one.
Orion, Roy, and Aurelia have spent years holding their broken household together. With winter closing in and their cottage falling apart around them, the three orphaned siblings are preparing to abandon the only home they have left—until a mysterious egg hatches beside their hearth.
Kindle is small, stubborn, and capable of producing enough heat to keep them alive. His arrival also awakens the Nine Seals, granting each sibling a Class, a growing set of abilities, and a simple command:
[[Survive]]
One dragon soon becomes several, and each hatchling changes what the family can build. A burrowing drake can reshape the land. A water dragon can clear snow and feed fields. Others may transform waste, crops, roads, defenses, and the future of the settlement itself.
But building a home is easier than keeping it. Bandits are watching the roads. Food and materials are scarce. Greater dragons do not appreciate humans claiming power that was never meant for them. And the mysterious old man the siblings call Uncle knows far more about the Seals than he has ever admitted.
Together with their growing household of dragons, they will turn a ruined cottage into a homestead, a homestead into a community, and a community into something powerful enough to survive the dangers gathering beyond its walls.
Volume One: Hearth and Scale
