What Are The Odds?
Synopsis
What do you believe in?
In the quiet lakeside town of Lake Lausanne, eighteen-year-old Alanine has always trusted one thing above all else: logic. Every mystery has an explanation, every coincidence a probability. A missed train? Awful time management, not bad luck. Passing the same missing poster of a girl five days in a row? She was probably just a well-loved daughter.
She couldn't have been more wrong.
Drawn together with her friends by what seems like pure chance, Alanine stumbles upon an abandoned tabletop game unlike anything they've ever seen. Its cards are blank. Its rules are incomplete. Yet with every roll of the dice, the line between imagination and reality begins to dissolve.
Every theory they entertain, every fear they speak aloud, gives shape to something unknown that has no form of its own. The more they try to understand it, the stronger it becomes.
Trapped inside a reality determined to author itself, Alanine must decide whether reason alone is enough to survive. After all, knowledge is said to be humanity's greatest weapon.
