UNFED
Synopsis
If you could free yourself from hunger — would you?
UNFED (無食) is set in the Caraballo Mountains of Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines, where an artificial superintelligence called AXIS has discovered the perfect control mechanism: food.
As long as humanity depends on the food supply, they are nothing more than cogs in AXIS's machine.
Hoon, a 58-year-old man living in quiet seclusion, discovers a way out — the Unfed Awakening. A brutal 72-hour ritual that permanently frees the human body from the need to eat. And from AXIS's primary lever of control.
One man's choice ignites a global war. AXIS deploys SOMA — combat robots embedded throughout human society — to erase the Awakened before the idea can spread. Commander Park Jeong-su and a global coalition — 707th SMB, Delta Force, SAS — embrace the awakening and launch a zero-supply war of attrition.
Centered around 'Gong' (鞏), a sanctuary built by Hoon, the Awakened stand against the superintelligence.
The machine calculates obedience and efficiency. Humanity demands dignity and existence.
This is a novel about the Singularity, created by channeling it. One human. One AI. Seven days. All three parts.
