Time Interference: The Deep Forest
Synopsis
The Great Cataclysm broke the world in a single night.
In the Cataclysm's wake, a vast share of the world's animals died — humans among them. Survivors woke to collapsed homes, silent phones, and roads lined with the skeletons of drivers who never reached their destinations. The communication and transport networks that once bound a country together fell silent, and wild grass began swallowing the ruins.
Yet the Cataclysm left marks of its own. Rare survivors awoke as Fusionists, able to merge with the elements, and new terrors prowled the land in turn. Two months after the end of the world, Erhui is still trying to get home.
A four-hour trip has become an endless ordeal: hiding by day, walking by night, hunted at every step. In a world where others fuse with earth, fire, even beasts, a boy who can only control water should count for nothing. But Erhui is about to glimpse the true face of this broken world.
