The Little Gods

The Little Gods is a dark high-fantasy series consisting of a tetralogy of "concept albums" that take the form of novels. Heavily inspired by the metalhead and rivethead music subcultures, Journey to the West, Asian fantasy, and MENA, this musical influence stretches into the naming of the books, as they are seen as music albums with tracks as chapters. The series surrounds the Monkey, the Raven, the Snake, and the Owl who discover the true history of, tell the truth of, and change the state of their broken, feudal world—whether they want to or not.

All Rakshal knows of his adopted family is that they were hunted less than a hundred years ago, the culmination of five-thousand years of persecution. Though he was born of a mountain, he was premature, and his brother left him in the hands of Aiyool, the most powerful member of the Wasihl family—and the only member left. He spent his life as a nomad with her, evading the faifethi empire every step of the way...but he was happy.

After Aiyool is taken, he goes on a self-imposed mission to rescue her, unaware of the horrific domino effect this will have on the realm...
