For the last nine years, Margo has served as an Interrogator for the Corporation—an organization that governs humanity from the shadows.

As a member of the Executive Committee, her job is to identify threats before they become disasters. Criminal syndicates, political intrigue, covert operations, internal power struggles—if something has the potential to destabilize the world, it eventually lands on her desk.

Lately, however, the problems have become harder to ignore. Powerful groups are operating beyond the Corporation's reach. Unusual incidents are occurring across the globe with increasing frequency. And the Corporation's own leadership is becoming increasingly secretive about its intentions.

Then Margo is assigned a new recruit.
