Steel Vanguard: Echoes of the Void
Synopsis
Alarick Wolfram has twenty-two years of mental experience trapped in the body of a ten-year-old. He arrived in Aethmark without knowing how or why, with no resources, no acquaintances, and the certainty that no one was going to explain anything to him.
What he found was a family that had no reason to help him, yet did so anyway.
This is not a story about a chosen hero. It is about someone who learned to use what he had, who built real bonds with real people, and who discovered that the world he is trapped in has problems that go far beyond just surviving the winter.
There is magic. There are monsters. There is a threat coming from the North that no one fully understands yet. There are creatures posing as gods and a fractured kingdom being reunified by someone who genuinely believes they are doing the right thing.
And there is a ten-year-old boy who, every week, remembers less of the life he left behind, and still not knowing if that is a loss or an adaptation.
In summary: This is a fantasy story that prioritizes character development over action. It is a slow-burn narrative where the mundane moments say more about the characters than any combat scene. For those who enjoy stories where who the character is matters more than how strong they become, this story has a lot to offer.
