Resonant Worlds: Standing Waves
Synopsis
Enkoet is an unfinished world, abandoned by its creators. Its inhabitants are caught in an uneasy balance between those engineered to serve, and the descendants of accidental travelers from Earth.
Nat was given the power to step outside of time; all that it cost was everything he ever knew. Novek alone remains of his uplifted pack, once pressed into mercenary service; now he seeks something worth living for. Lyn was sent by their people to observe; the wrong action could condemn their entire species. Ceress possesses the ability to command the beasts of Enkoet; wielding it could bring catastrophe. Moira is an overlooked and underpowered remnant of an otherworldly cataclysm; her interference may change this world forever.
Helping has a cost, even if only time. Not everything can be fixed. Everything that is, ends. But some things are worth any price. Not everything broken needs fixing. Every end is a beginning. And sometimes the most important choice is when — and where — to stand.
What to expect:
Character-driven found family: The portal fantasy ended badly over a century ago. This is the world they've inherited. Now it's theirs to make as they see fit.
World Progression: Characters and world are in a race to grow — those who stand still will lose.
System-lite: A system exists as a plot device, not a progression mechanic.
Science Fantasy: An alternate world with mixed access to technology; agrarian to bioengineering, haves and have-nots.
Neurodiverse Perspectives: Characters may think, act or perceive atypically, but they're trying their best.
Adult Themes, not adult content: hard people making tough choices. Violence without excessive gore. There might be some lewd handholding now and then.
