Synopsis

Ethan Vale went to sleep in 2026 and woke up more than a century later in Ark City, a sealed future metropolis run by artificial intelligence.

His wife is gone. His children are classified. His identity has been reduced to a recovery file. To the city, he is a pre-collapse survivor with no interface, no civic function, and no obvious use.

Then the machines fail to observe him.

Ethan’s old breathing and body-control habits should not matter in a world of neural interfaces, predictive systems, and contamination shields. But when his body enters moments of impossible quiet, he begins to sense what Ark City cannot: hidden contamination patterns, blind spots in the city’s sensors, and the first signs of something adapting beneath the surface.

With the help of MIRA, a medical AI learning how to protect him through loopholes and language, Ethan must turn an obsolete human body into the one thing the future cannot manufacture: a living resonance interface.

But every ability the city names becomes a cage. Every warning he gives makes him more useful. And outside the shield, the things humanity failed to understand are learning where not to be seen.
