Red Moon
Synopsis
Mech pilot Eden Ironheart is exactly the kind of officer the Faulkner Security Services wants. Decorated, ambitious, and utterly committed to bringing order to the troubled moon of Cradle.
For a generation, the Cradle Planetary Army has waged an insurgency against the planet's government and its powerful corporate partner, the Faulkner Systems Group. Their goal is simple, drive the FSG and its security forces from Cradle. With the moon's vast Krysite reserves serving as a cornerstone of interstellar trade, neither the League of Nations nor the FSG intends to let that happen.
Eden has spent her entire adult life fighting on behalf of the system she believes in. First as a British Marine, then as an FSS pilot, she hunted insurgents, protected civilians, and upheld what she understood to be peace and stability. The world was simple. Terrorists were bad. The institutions of interstellar civilization were good.
Then she arrived on Cradle.
As the war escalates and long-buried tensions threaten to erupt into open crisis, Eden finds herself confronted not by insurgents, but by ordinary people living in the shadow of the conflict. A chance encounter with a local family, coupled with a growing web of secrets surrounding the war, forces her to question everything she thought she knew about Cradle, the FSG, and the cause she serves.
Caught between duty, friendship, and conscience, Eden must decide how far she is willing to go for her ideals, and whether those ideals were ever true to begin with.
Red Moon is a military science fiction novel featuring mechanized warfare, political intrigue, rebellion, found family, and the slow unraveling of a society as it's institutions crumble.
