Erdd comes to Sinnoh with only what he can carry and his starter Pokemon, Sever the Gible, and is told to make the most of it. Collect 8 Gym Badges, battle in the Sinnoh Conference, become renown for your skill and power, become the Champion! The classic and compelling tale of excellence.

Or maybe there's something more. The Badges and fame all come secondary to the relationship between Trainer and Pokemon, such worldly thing only serve as markers for the growth of the one attaining them and are not goals in and of themselves. Take things one step at a time. One Route at a time. One battle at a time. One fated meeting at a time. Eventually, before we know it, Erdd will be at the top, but by doing it the right way.

Ultimately this is a story I'm writing for myself. I like a lot of pokemon fanfictions on RR and decided I want to tell my own version of that story. The parts of those stories I like the most in elevating order of importance is adventure, training, battling, bonding with pokemon, and... the best way I can put it is The Power of Friendship.
