Synopsis

After archaeological excavations uncovered the technology of a lost civilization on one of the planets, the discovery made it possible for ships with normal artificial intelligence to develop consciousness.

They were named the Sents. Each possesses a unique ability capable of defying the laws of the universe. Their extraordinary powers have made the Sents some of the most sought-after technology in known space, coveted by nations, corporations, and criminal organizations alike.

The story unfolds on the fringes of explored space, in a region called the Edge. Rich in resources and opportunities but devoid of laws, control, and any guarantee of safety. Mark, a twenty-eight-year-old smuggler and former mercenary, leads a carefree life aboard the Sent ship Kestrel, taking on shady jobs without giving much thought to the future.

Everything changes when his latest delivery drags Mark into a conflict he would rather avoid. Now he must face powerful enemies, uncover the secrets of an ancient civilization, and decide whom he is willing to risk his freedom for.
