Journeys to Magic: The Merchant of Joy
Synopsis
Wuxia x Tolkien x Arthurian Legend x Mythology, all in one sweeping, genre-bending story.
Embark on an epic, era-spanning adventure set in a fantasy world full of magic, mystery, and lost history! Journeys to Magic follows the perspectives of many unique, larger-than-life characters as they come together to save humanity in a reimagining of familiar mythologies and folktales.
The legendary tale begins when a middle-aged peasant named Brax has a fateful encounter with an overly happy young girl claiming to be from the isolated Eastlands. Beckoning the power of gods from faraway, she is Xinyu Ma, the Merchant of Joy, and she whisks the previously hopeless man away from his life of misery into one of untold danger and grand adventure.
While their initial goals differ, they quickly find themselves in the midst of a prophecy wrought by the fox spirit, Kitsune, foretelling the end of existence when the gods become corrupt with disease and descend upon the Earth to admonish existence itself.
In collaboration with King Arthur, the Chosen One, a plan is devised to save humanity by bringing it to the land across the sea, where fate does not dictate, the Moonless Terra. The only issue is that no one has ever returned from an expedition to those mysterious lands. Not just that, but the world is soon to be consumed by an all-encompassing war that may destroy civilization before the prophesied calamity is even fully realized.
Heroes will rise. Empires will fall. The world itself will change, and secrets which should not be told will be unveiled.
