IN HIS HANDS

by SoundSoul Ongoing

Synopsis

A story for you and me. A tale about lives lost, how lies cost, great loves, and petty trickery, not to downplay great feats. Start compelling trials on worlds lost to time, gone with history.

A journey is life, so be reborn, by any means.

Adena is the name, and learning is the game.

Adena is- It is, she is, a girl? She's just a girl, but do not be deceived, she's a girl fathered by men. Can a 13-year-old girl open her eyes to see the world for what it truly is? Destiny waits for no one, not the innocent, never the unwary.

Misdiagnosed early on in life with schizo- Wait, you've heard that one before, haven't you? Kids with "overactive imaginations" often find themselves in trouble, but being in trouble isn't a crime. Not always.

Whether she be trapped in a moving castle... [SYSTEM ERROR] Candr@...

"Checking...1...2...3

Listen up, boys and girls, ladies and gents, he and she, they, them, automated, binary, and nonbinary, cats and dogs, and even you, It! Am I missing anyone, and when I say anyone, I mean anything?"

"Perhaps, Sire."

"Carrying on, we have here a recipe for disaster, but your life is probably worse. Hold on, one moment... What was that?

Okay, sponsors say I'm not 'allowed' to upset the viewers. Dear viewers, remember, sinful watchers out there, this story is brought to you by Image Plate+. How can it be real when life's already given you lemons?

Yada, yada, yada... Back to the script! Luckily, I won't be subjecting you to that garbage synopsis. Say, thank you, writers' strike!

Ah ha ha...Ha, “Tough Crowd," guess I'm a couple of years too late. Aren't we all?

Sugar, spice, and she's on thin ice; these are ingredients to create the perfect-

"Whoa! I'm not saying that. She's far from perfect, and I would know."

"But Sire, you have to read the script or-"

"Or what!? Don't call me sire! What am I even doing here!? Who are you!? What are you doing here!? Shows f@8nixb over, roll the credits!"

I almost forgot my dear girl isn’t the most reliable narrator, so as a gift from me to you, I'll lend you the eyes of not one child, but a one, a two, a one, two, three, four, cue the music!"

"Cause nothing's better than Candralt, why can't we all get along,

I hope we can afford the melody to this soooong,

You'd better watch out for the sirens in those skimpy, gimpy red thongs,

keeping it cool and casual so the show will go oooon.

Please, anyone... I can't do this forever.

"So yoooour hands are scraped to the bone, and you find yourself alone, and you don't remember where you are, who you are, or how long???"

"Hey! I'm not paying you to sing like a strangled cat. Seek help on your own time!"

"Please..."

-_-

"Because Nothing's better than Candralt,

Why can't we all get along,

Forgive me for doing the young mistress wrong,

It's best to keep the fire kempt because in the night comes a girl with a forked tongue,

She'll eat your food and make you pay for what you've done."

Author note: (Still editing, but it's manageable.)

(3 Years Later)

My first novel probably won’t be the last. I'll be pushing out one chapter a week. So anywhere between 1 and 7 days.

(I hate when something I've been reading stops posting. I won't up and vanish, I'm around.) Ps. I hope there aren’t too many similarities between my novel and other works of fiction. I've read a hideous amount. ^_^ Yes, the story is "Gamelit" A toast to longer being stuck in the [Editing Apocalypse...]
