The Apocalypse has occurred. Mana has flooded our ecosystem and Humanity is trying to adapt to this new world filled with Magic and Monsters. This is a time of Warriors, Mages, and Rogues: heroes who can split mountains, conjure flame, and move like shadows.

Christopher Kingston is not one of them.

When the former accountant receives his System activation, he expects fireballs or superhuman strength. Instead, he gets an inflated Charisma stat, a silver tongue that bleeds mana with every word, and the terrifying realization that he might accidentally convince someone to walk off a cliff just by telling them to get outta his face.

Six months of surviving the wilderness, losing his companion to a monster that won't stop hunting him, and running from everything with teeth has left Chris with one goal: reach Kansas City and live a normal life. All he wants to do is keep his head down, appraise some cool stuff, and maybe find a nice quiet desk job where his supernatural persuasion can't hurt anyone.
