He Dreamed of Justice

by Michael Regal Ongoing

Synopsis

The war is over. The victors promised peace, but what they gave instead was silence—burned cities, soldiers in every street, and a conquered people forbidden from remembering who they once were.

Lieutenant Aeric Shale fought for that victory. Now he carries its ashes. Haunted by the slaughter he helped deliver and despised by both the empire he serves and the humans he polices, Shale drowns in guilt while enforcing a fragile, brutal peace.

But rebellion smolders in the ruins. In the capital, a young emperor shackled by his father’s bloody legacy dreams of justice even as his grip on power weakens. In the alleys, resistance fighters plot a last stand against extinction. And in the middle stands Shale—broken soldier, reluctant enforcer, and the man who must choose whether loyalty to his empire is worth the weight of his soul.

He Dreamed of Justice is a dark fantasy of war’s aftermath, where peace is enforced at gunpoint and survival demands betrayal.
