Guild Wars 2: A Novelised Retelling

Alistair is a thirty-year-old Krytan noble with little certainty about what he wants from his life. Intelligent, cautious and deeply curious, he values home, friendship and stability far more than glory or adventure. His unusual connection to the Mists has made him a revenant, but power has done little to provide him with a sense of purpose.

Then the centaurs attack Shaemoor.

What begins as an attempt to help people in danger gradually draws Alistair into the politics of Kryta, forgotten histories, ancient magic, the Orders of Tyria and conflicts that reach far beyond anything he imagined when he first left Divinity’s Reach.

Guild Wars 2: A Novelised Retelling adapts the story of Guild Wars 2 into a continuous epic-fantasy narrative, following the canonical chronology and events of the game while expanding its characters, relationships, journeys, battles and quieter moments into a fully realised novel.

Familiar events are given room to breathe. Conversations become complete scenes. Journeys have consequences. Friendships develop over time. And the man who will one day be expected to carry impossible responsibilities begins simply as someone trying to discover what kind of life he wants to live.

No prior knowledge of Guild Wars 2 is required.
