Synopsis
Tariq is twenty. An immigrant in America. His family is held hostage by a gang back in his home country, his uncle works him as the cheapest laborer in the land, and every dollar he earns goes toward the weekly ransom that keeps his mother and brother alive. The police can’t do a thing. There is no way out.
Except the cat.
A one-eyed creature that shares the warehouse he sleeps in — it talks, it thinks, and it offers to help. For a price Tariq pays every few days , out of other people’s pockets.
