Enderun ( Season 9/18 )

During the Runic Renaissance, mages uncovered the hidden lattice beneath reality, the Aether Script, a network of ancient Prime Sigils binding creation together. Seeking to extend their power across continents, they attempted to stabilize shared rune casting.

Instead, they tore it open.

The first breach ( later called the First Rift ) swallowed the mining town of Veyra and rewrote what remained. 

Scholars believed they had pierced the Deep Layer, a buried stratum of unfinished creation where discarded magic and extinct runes lay dormant.

As fractures spread, Enderun militarized, forming Rift Regiments to contain the damage. But a splinter faction, the Eclipt Collective, declared the Rifts a necessary evolution , an ascension into deeper truth. Civil war followed. For twelve years the sky split, cities burned, and sealing one Rift often birthed another.

The war ended at the Rostram Cataclysm, when the Collective attempted to weaponize the original breach. The Rift consumed them, and much of the continent, before Enderun detonated a massive containment lattice, silencing the phenomenon.

Fast forward to today and  these wounds in reality still bleed into the world with hostile creatures warped by unknown forces. Now Enderun trains young runebearers to master their power and contain the chaos of the Rifts.

Season 8 is done. The next season starts Aug. 3rd.
