Before the Con

Famen Striker is a small-time con artist, a great thief, and as of an hour ago, the captain of a starship she has no idea how to fly.

It wasn't supposed to be her. But when her uncle and the rest of the Glass Spider crew went up in a spectacular fireball, she was the only one left to sit in the big chair. Now Famen's got a limping ship, half a warbot who's desperately trying to call its military bosses, and a small moon's worth of transit cops hunting her over the con that went so wrong it killed everyone she knew.

What she does not have: a pilot, money to fix the Glass Spider, or the faintest idea how to switch off the alarms that say her ship might be a bit "explodey." 

So she'll do the only thing she can: improvise, lie, and slowly assemble the worst crew in the galaxy, before the law, pirates, or her own ship finishes what the fireball started.

Before the Con is a fast, funny sci-fi comedy about bad luck, worse odds, and how sometimes the only way to get through life is finding the "crew" no one else wanted.

It's also the origin of the crew you'll later meet in the upcoming novel The Facilite Con.
