High above Earth's orbit, an ancient cabal of voidborne space vampires seek to harvest the planet. The only one willing to stop them is a consortium of interstellar capitalists that intends to put the planet to work instead. For either to get their way, they need champions to do the dirty work for them. An Acolyte, and an Adjudicator.

Unfortunately, they're really scraping the bottom of the barrel with these two.

Lenora Graves was picked for her last name—and little else. She wakes up dead and gainfully employed. Her new job? Lead the zombie apocalypse and wipe out humanity. The pay is bad. The hours are worse. Her only coworkers are a condescending evil grimoire and a miasmatic cat who hate each other. And, of course, an army of the undead who are only there to do her bidding. Maybe, just maybe, if she can figure out how to conquer Earth, she can find a way to put it back together again.  

John Borgor has $20 to his name and a gift for making bad situations worse. No job, no fiancée, too many lottery tickets. He's spent thirty-two years of falling short of his own expectations—which makes him the perfect pick for humanity's champion. With his four rat companions, a frying pan, and a crippling gambling addiction, can he become the man he needs to be to save the planet?
