Synopsis
A modern man falls asleep during a late-night film and wakes in 5th-century Pannonia — inside Aurel Corvinus, the son the histories swear was never born. He becomes the oldest vampire alive and the only one no record remembers: fifteen centuries spent keeping everyone else's names and leaving none of his own. He knows the night each person he loves will die, and he has never told a living soul what he truly is. This is the account he has been writing by hand, in a language nobody can read — and, at last, the question of who it was always for.
