In 2194, a ship called Nautilomus vanished at the edge of the solar system — and for one instant, the whole universe turned blue.

Fourteen years later, the Galactic Federation has consolidated its grip on the solar system, corporations run half of it in all but name, and nobody talks about the outer galaxies anymore. The people who tried already disappeared.

Sian was seven when she watched the broadcast. She’s twenty-two now — officially a mechanical engineering student at Vendal University, unofficially building an unlicensed ship out of black-market parts in an abandoned factory basement, chasing a light she saw once and never got back.

She has no cause. No manifesto. No interest in taking down the Federation or the megacorps that quietly run it from the shadows. She just wants to go where the ship that vanished went — and somehow, that’s more dangerous than any of it.

Around her, a friend who thinks she’s a beautiful kind of idiot, a black-market dealer running his own quiet calculations, a retired officer who’s never fully returned from whatever he saw out there, and a patrol major deciding, one unfiled report at a time, how much of the rulebook she’s willing to bend for a neighbor’s kid with an impossible dream.

The Blue Comet is a slow-burn hard sci-fi drama about ordinary people building something extraordinary in the margins of a world that has stopped looking up — told in dry, unsentimental prose, without heroes, without villains, and without any guarantee of a happy ending.
