Rose Hill: A Dark Rural Fantasy

The town of Rose Hill seems at first glance to be a prosperous rural community nestled forested foothills and farmland, but the truth is that it is a thin place, where the otherworldly slips through, where magic is common and mysterious disappearances come with every camping season. Fey courts, shapeshifters, and worse can be found by anyone foolish enough to follow the wrong paths after dark.

Aaron Novak knows Rose Hill's woods well. Ignored at his suburban home in favor of his popular and charismatic twin sister, Aaron has built his own life learning the laws and lore of the forest and farmlands, how to bargain with beings that would honor them, and how to kill those that wouldn't.

-Gritty and desperate combat against otherworldly beings (knives, guns, bows)

This is NOT a progression fantasy or LitRPG. The protagonists are normal humans. Monsters and otherworldly forces are defeated through preparation, knowledge, grit, and risk, the protagonists are often physically outmatched by the forces they encounter and simply becoming more powerful is not an option. 

The first book (34 chapters total) is completed, my general plan is to post the first seven chapters and then one per day until it's all up.
