An Accidental Family Isekai

Most people reach a point in life where they think they understand how the world works.

James had reached that point. A steady job, a family RV trip, a quiet weekend away from everything.

Then the world changed.

One moment he and his family were camping. The next, they were stranded in Elyndra, a world of monsters, magic, guild politics, and gods who treat mortal lives like pieces on a game board.

They still have their RV.

Their phones now show stats.

And the world runs on something that looks suspiciously like game mechanics.

James approaches the situation like a problem to solve. Someone brought them here, which means someone can send them back. Until then, survival comes first.

Christine sees the harsher truth. If this world insists on threatening their family, they will need to grow stronger, learn its rules, and be ready to fight.

The kids see something entirely different: a world of adventure instead of homework and a future full of nine-to-five jobs.

Together the family must navigate monsters, magic, politics, and a system that rewards strength but rarely shows mercy.

They do not want to be heroes.

They just want to survive, level up, and maybe, if the world allows it, stay a family.

volume 1 complete just over 80,000 words, and  Volume 2 is done, with around 90K words scheduled to post Monday/Wednesday/Friday weekly.

This is my first attempt at writing a longer story and sharing it publicly. The story itself is fully written by me. I used AI only to help clean formatting and grammar because I do not currently have the budget for professional editing. Feedback is appreciated. Constructive criticism is welcome.

At its core this is a family-focused LitRPG / Isekai adventure with crafting, exploration, and a lot of experimentation with how a modern family might approach a fantasy world built on game-like mechanics.

I'm mostly writing this because it sounded fun and I wanted to see where the idea would go. Hopefully others enjoy the ride too.
