A Troubled Journey Home

A historian and comms officer of an exploration vessel records a log of events leading to disaster and how the crew responds to multiple crises. The crew encounters disasters, obstacles, and a politically challenging situation.  Their initial expedition opens a mystery that will unfold over time. On leaving the planet investigated, they respond to a horrible accident in space or is it an accident? Then disaster hits their ship as well. A meteor-impacted hull, damaged hull and depleted resources leave them with few options. They need to repair their ship alone in space, near a desolate moon. After repairs are complete, they discover they have been sent back in time 400 years from the future. Will Earth accept them? What politics will play out?  How do they navigate their arrival on present-day Earth? What challenges will they face in their efforts to assimilate? Not all questions will be answered in this episode, but a foundation is laid for what comes next..
