Whims of Kiraan

A shattered soul bound forever to a twisted heart.

Two years ago, Ithan formed a dark pact with a being called Kiraan, vowing vengeance for the death of his mother. Since then, Kiraan has guided him to the western edge of civilization—the broken land of Averion. Here, Ithan hopes to finally find the power he desires to complete his quest for vengeance. That power comes with a price—eternal servitude to Kiraan—but it is of no consequence to Ithan.

That is, until he befriends a dragonkin girl named Fenvyre. When he ends up agreeing to explore Averion with her group, Ithan's quest becomes a struggle to discover himself as Kiraan's influence attempts to drive him ever further into the abyss.

But as much as he may wish it were not so, he still belongs to Kiraan.

Whims of Kiraan is a traditional epic fantasy inspired by a Dungeons & Dragons campaign that held me together in a very dark time in my life. It has since been enriched with elements from several other campaigns I have participated in, the various characters and stories from those campaigns interwoven with Ithan's journey.
