But Aric quickly learns that surviving the Velvet Hearth requires more than just balancing the books. His staff, an ancient, terrifyingly elegant Frost Elf, a predatory Lion Kin floor manager, and a dwarven cook whose thigh-locks are a civic hazard, are vastly amused by their blushing, virgin manager. They make it their mission to dismantle his armor, teaching him that in Sunmere’s upper wards, a man’s composure and physical presence are his most lucrative assets.    

From navigating the demanding desires of aristocratic widows to fending off entitled noblemen threatening his family, Aric must master a completely different kind of customer service. He will prove that earning an empire doesn't require a sword; it requires unbreakable stamina, flawless accounting, and furniture built to withstand a six-tailed Kitsune.
