The One who Stayed
Synopsis
This story follows a martyr man in Russia of Belarusian origins. After the fall of the Soviet Union, he was completely separated from his family following the death of his parents and he would live for decades having other people build a new one for him. Just with its challenges along the way
As the Russian Federation rebuilt itself after the 1990s, so would he. But if anything taught him, good and bad are always intertwined with each other, and he would have a tough time learning how to live an ordinary life while raising a daughter at a young age. Eventually, he will finally learn to live a life he promised himself when he was younger
Later chapters uses only Russian for dialogue, and well, some Belarusian and Ukrainian too. And they are untranslated. This was done deliberately to add a sense of authenticity and realism to this very serious story. I'd recommend a translator for some viewers.
I sort of also figured myself out across this novel. So, my writing style may be WILDLY different between two distant chapters. Take that in for account.
These AI grammar tools really pissed me off so later chapters may have problems with grammar
No dialogue tags= The narrator of that chapter is speaking
Dialogue tags= Someone else in that chapter is speaking
15+ for including some dark, heavy, or sensitive matter. They're usually implied, briefly shown, or the focus is elsewhere
