The Last Emberwright
Synopsis
In a world where magical affinity determines worth, Kael Ashfall is declared a Null and marked for death. His only hope to save his terminally ill sister, Lira, is to survive the brutal Academy and uncover the truth behind his forbidden power: Emberwright, the ability to unmake magic. Hunted by the Inquisition and aided by a hidden network of rebels called the Echo Seekers, Kael must master his volatile gift, fight his way through a deadly tournament, and journey into the frozen north to heal the World-Wound—an ancient tear between dimensions that has been bleeding for five centuries.
Lira's sacrifice heals the wound and transforms her into the heart of the Void, while Kael becomes the bridge between worlds. In the years that follow, he and Lyra Voss found the Emberwright Institute—a sanctuary built from a conquered Inquisition fortress—and launch the Ashen Circle, emissaries who travel the continent spreading the truth. They face the fanatical remnants of the Inquisition, an ancient hunger awakening in the Abyss, and the discovery of civilizations that predate even the First Emberwright.
The story does not end with Kael's death. He, Lyra, and Lira become eternal watchers at the center of the tapestry, guiding countless generations of weavers across dimensions and eons. The narrative spirals outward—through the discovery of living threads, sentient music, a Mirror that reflects every choice ever made, and the awakening of the tapestry itself into a loving, conscious community. It is the story of a single, desperate promise that echoes across eternity.
