Unfortunately, the System has other plans. So do several goddesses. So does whatever tore open the Wraithfire Court and left the dead trapped in the ruins of sacred passage.

Kira is not a chosen hero. She is an analytical, stubborn, deeply underqualified survivor with a dangerous class, a growing talent for impossible problems, and very little patience for destiny.
