The Culinary Champion System
Synopsis
Chris White bet everything on a single spot on Burning Kitchen, the most brutal cooking competition on television. Forty seconds too long in the oven, a hairline of pink in the center of his potato pavé, and that's all the excuse Gareth Vane needs. The foul-mouthed celebrity head judge tears him apart on camera, slams a fork down on the marble, and throws him off the show in front of twenty-seven thousand rejected applicants: "You simply don't belong here. Get out of my kitchen."
That night, broke and publicly ruined, Chris hears something no one else can. Ding. The Culinary Champion System has chosen him — stat panels, Arena Points, a "Data Eye" that reads the exact thermocouple drift of any oven and the precise palate of any judge. For a man who spent his life thinking in code, it isn't magic. It's a debugger for the one system he could never crack: the kitchen.
He doesn't want to start over somewhere small. He wants back on Burning Kitchen, and he intends to climb it the only way he trusts: one calculated move at a time, treating every dish as a problem to be solved and every rival as a variable to be measured. But the revival round is only the first patch. Above him wait a kitchen full of chefs who watched him fail, a head judge whose contempt may be hiding something else entirely, and Ethan Cole, a rival as cold and brilliant as Chris himself, who looks at him across the pass and says: we're the same kind of person.
