The Asterion Signal

Captain Ethan Ward expects his patrol through the outer frontier to be routine.

Then the Vanguard detects a signal from a region of space that should be empty.

The transmission carries no identification, no distress code, and no known human protocol. Worse, its structure matches a sealed neurological record from Ethan’s past—an incident he barely remembers and the Alliance refuses to explain.

Following the signal leads the Vanguard to the Asterion, a colossal warship lost centuries ago and concealed inside a field that bends sensors, distance, and light. The ship is not entirely dead. Twelve survivors remain aboard, though only seven can still be saved. Among them is Elara Veyr, a human consciousness preserved inside an ancient military exosuit.

As Ethan attempts a rescue, an alien analytical system hidden within his own nervous system begins to awaken. It can predict threats no human can see—but every use blurs the line between Ethan’s judgment and the machine’s calculations.

And somewhere beyond the dark, something has noticed.

The Observer is coming to reclaim every fragment of Genesis technology.

If Ethan cannot get his crew home before it arrives, the Vanguard will become the next ship lost to the silence.
