According to prophecy, the Hero will journey across the Blessed Lands, gather his companions, strengthen his relics, and defeat the King of Demons, who has terrorized the northern continent as its cruelest and most powerful ruler for a hundred years.

But Orland accidentally killed the Hero, and now he’s left with relics he has no idea how to use.

Born an orphan in the lowest of the lowest slums, Orland was supposed to die a dog's death. Now divine prophecies have set their eyes on him, demonic armies want him dead, and ancient gods and monsters bear grudges against his stolen name. If he drops his relics and runs away, he can return to being just another face in the crowd. Someone who doesn’t matter.

But if there’s one thing he’s learned from the streets, it’s that if fate wants something back, it’ll have to bleed for it like everyone else.
