Night Shift Vampire: I Thought I Was Just Good at Working Nights
Synopsis
Nathan “Nate” Cole thought he was finally getting used to the grind.
Full-time college. Thirty hours a week at a logistics warehouse. Barely enough sleep to remain legally conscious. Somehow, though, Nate always felt better after midnight. He could lift more, work faster, and shrug off injuries that should have lasted for days.
Then, at five-thirty one morning, a girl in a university hoodie stepped between him and a bleeding stranger.
“You know you’re a vampire, right?”
Apparently, Nate hasn’t adapted to working nights. He has been an unregistered vampire for weeks—and the only reason his impossible schedule hasn’t killed him is that his new body has been quietly keeping him alive.
Now he needs legally supplied blood, supernatural medical care, and a crash course in controlling abilities he never knew he had. Worse, the people offering to help belong to MAJESTIC-12, the secret federal agency responsible for identifying, training, and recruiting America’s supernatural assets.
And Kara Kingsley—the strangely calm student who found him—is treated by federal agents less like a witness and more like a visiting head of state.
Nate only wants to keep his tuition grant, make rent, and avoid biting anyone.
But as his vampiric abilities begin to grow, it becomes clear that he isn’t an ordinary new vampire—and MAJESTIC-12 isn’t the only organization interested in what he might become.
A modern urban fantasy featuring vampire progression, secret government agencies, college life, supernatural training, and a protagonist who is far more worried about student debt than becoming a creature of the night.
