Nexus and Quinn are seasoned S-class adventurers, going through their usual day-to-day routine of taking on specialized missions.

When they are tasked with acquiring drake parts for a noble, they quickly realize something is wrong. During the mission, they encounter and battle a drake with the ability to speak. In this world, only true dragons and elder dragons possess the gift of speech, making the discovery deeply concerning. True dragons are considered nationwide threats, while elder dragons are so powerful that their mere presence can endanger the entire planet.

As if that were not enough, they also discover a nearby clan of dragonmen with a plan to create their own elder dragons using the body of a being known only as the Progenitor.

After relaying this information to the guild, the news shocks the higher-ups to their core, triggering an expedition protocol that marks the beginning of war.
