In 1974, someone handed Gary Gygax the rules for Dungeons & Dragons. They weren't creating a game. They were preparing humanity for the day it became real.

The System is here. Millions are dead. Ancient monuments hum with power, and human biology has become a character sheet. Behind it all lies a conspiracy older than civilisation and a D&D party of three friends is about to stumble into it. Every ancient ruin on Earth was built for a reason. Delphi. Petra. Göbekli Tepe. Humanity mistook them for relics of the past when they were only waiting to wake up.

Arthur Ashworth is a structural engineer who reads monsters like damaged buildings. Donna Callas is a security consultant who fights like she trained for this. Steve Parr is an archaeologist who just realised his entire career was fieldwork for the apocalypse.

Now they're racing across real-world ruins, solving impossible puzzles, levelling against monsters pulled from mythology, and uncovering the truth behind the civilization that built humanity's hidden operating system.

Their only guide is an alien construct with strong opinions about human architecture and no intention of telling them anything useful.
