Echoes of The Unmade

Luke doesn't remember how he got here. Only the fall — hours through absolute darkness, and the thing that found him in it.

Fished half-dead from the sea by strangers, he wakes in a world he doesn't recognize: six islands ringed around a bottomless void called the Abyss, where monsters called Dreadkins are born, where every person carries an innate power, and where a small handful of legends — The Heroes — walk among ordinary people like something closer to gods.

Luke has none of that. No Path he understands yet, no place in this world, and no way home. All he has is a body stra,ge even for this world, and a silence where his memory of the fall should be.

What Luke doesn't know is that something followed him out of the dark. Something ancient. Something that made  a promise  in a place where nothing should have been able to speak at all.

A story of self-reliance and its cost, of monsters born from a wound in the world, and of a man who will have to choose, again and again, between the safety of staying closed off — and the terrifying, necessary risk of letting someone in.
