Randomly, one day, all over the world, people between the ages of 15 and 18 began disappearing randomly. Sometimes, in a pillar of brilliant light, others just "pop" out of existence without a trace. Of course, this worried everyone else in the world, and things began to become somewhat tense in world politics because blame kept being thrown around, yet no one could be found responsible for the loss of the teens.

Then the first ones began returning. Coming home just as mysteriously as they left, but they were changed. They hadn't aged despite the months or years they had been missing, but their bodies and minds were left completely different than what they were before. They all came back telling tales of magical adventures in foreign worlds on quests to defeat a great evil or stop a great calamity. Some tales resembled children's fairytales, others resembled nightmares, leaving deep, irreparable scars on the returned teen's mind and body.

What really changed was that the teens returned with all the abilities and powers they gained on their adventures, and with them also came some of the inherent power from the magical realms, which began changing the earth. With war and strife commonplace after so many teens went missing and now having the power to change things, the returned teens began a crusade to save the world just like they had in their otherworldly adventures...

Now, years later, the world order has changed, but teens still disappear and keep returning with new and exciting powers, so the powers that be have created programs dedicated to the integration of these returned people into the new society, where they can develop their newfound powers for the betterment of mankind, and one of the original teens who has finally returned almost seven years after his disappearance, has found himself able to enjoy a world where he can use his... primitve powers to their fullest exent...
