Cultivator Andy

Wake up. Mine crystals. Don't die.

That's the job, and Andy doesn't remember ever having a different one. The guards have guns. The other workers have agendas. The tunnels have monsters that shouldn't exist. On his first shift, surrounded by men who've already made their peace with the dark, he decides he won't be one of them.

Then he finds the cavern. The crystals there are bigger than anything on the work floor, and they're whispering secrets the guards would kill to keep buried. It's a path to power. Maybe a path out. But he'll have to hide it from everyone, the sadists with the guns, the workers who call him friend, and the horrors that live deeper still, until he's strong enough to stop hiding.

No one leaves the mine alive. Andy intends to be the first.
